Singer and songwriter Sam Kim made his official debut back in 2016 with his mini-album, ‘I am Sam,’ becoming one of the many loved RnB artists to emerge from South Korea's K-pop industry. Now as he gears up for the release of his new dance song, Sam Kim is still sticking true to his RnB roots, and being the ‘OST King’ that he is, giving fans a dreamy release to look forward to. He has collaborated with Indonesian artist Raisa, who released her fourth full-length album ‘It’s Personal’ on November 12, available on all music streaming platforms.

The album features a duet titled ‘Someday’ featuring Sam Kim — a song that talks about a couple who can’t show their honest feelings to each other because of their pride. Mixing Indonesian music with K-pop vibes creates a sweet, immersive soundscape for fans to enjoy. Raisa has talked about collaborating with other Asian artists in the past and being well versed in RnB music. Thanks to his OST journey, Sam Kim seems like the perfect fit for Raisa’s new song.

Both artists discuss making ‘Someday’

The song was produced independently in South Korea and Indonesia with Raisa working on ‘Someday’ from Jakarta and Sam sending his parts in from Seoul to make a complete and harmonious duet. While talking about the song, Sam Kim said, “When I was working on this song, I spent a lot of time on the phone, chatting and video calls with Raisa. I live in a different country, but I was able to record while discussing it in real-time.”

Raisa also talked about the making of their new single as she said she had a lot of fun working with Sam while mentioning that an ordinary conversation with the singer turned out to be a fruitful collaboration with another hit song for fans to look forward to. She says that “both Indonesian and Korean fans can relate to this song.” The song was pre-released on all music sites on November 12 while the music video was released later on the same day, simultaneously, in both Indonesia and South Korea on Raisa’s YouTube channel.
