Jo Yuri makes her solo debut
When Yuri was asked about how she felt going solo for the first time she talked about her concerns about being on stage as a solo artist. She said, "I was very nervous while I prepared for my debut but, now that I have debuted today, I am dazed and have moderate tension and worries. I have prepared very hard and I am determined to show everything I have prepared." Yuri mentioned in particular her concerns about being the center of attention for the first time without other members filling up the stage with her and boosting her morale.
Jo Yuri then promised to work hard in the future and asked fans to keep an eye out for her future solo endeavors. After releasing concept photos that made her look like Cinderella with a glass show laying around her, Yuri released 'Glassy' that colorfully captures her 'glassy charm' showing how she is delicate but powerful at the same time.
Yuri also said that she wanted her first song as a solo artist to be meaningful which is why she decided to go with the single 'Glassy' as she wished to be transparent just like glass. The single 'Glassy' emits a transparent light on the K-pop industry as the dance-pop number with a lively and catchy melody is supported by Yuri's charming voice.
IZ*ONE's solo artists
Yuri Jo is the second IZ*ONE member to make a solo debut. She is following the footsteps of Kwon Eunbi who made her debut with her solo mini-album 'Open' in August. While asked about the relationship between the former members since the disbandment, Yuri mentioned that all the members are still in touch with each other and always support each other in their solo activities.
Another member of IZ*ONE, Kim Minju, who had raised expectations among fans with news reports suggesting she was joining HYBE's new girl group has made an official statement regarding her future in the industry. Her label Urban Works ENT told Newsen on October 7, "It is true that Kim Min-joo received an offer to join the girl group, but she has a strong will to become an actor, so she will start acting in earnest."
