IZ*ONE’s Sakura, the Japanese girl group member may join Big Hit Entertainment group after the K-pop group disbands next year, according to a new report. The report comes after Mnet confirmed the group’s expiry in April. Reports have also noted that Big Hit is planning to debut a Japanese girl group, so Sakura Miyawaki may take part in it.

IZ*ONE formed in 2018 with 12 K-pop trainees from various agencies who participated in the Mnet reality show 'Produce 48' and had a two-and-half-year contract. Earlier reports suggested that after the K-pop act disbands, members including Jang Won-young, Sakura Miyawaki, Jo Yu-ri, Choi Ye-na, An Yu-jin, Nako Yabuki, Kwon Eun-bi, Kang Hye-won, Hitomi Honda, Kim Chae-won, Kim Min-ju and Lee Chae-yeon will return to their previous agencies.

Will Sakura join Big Hit Entertainment?

A report from Hankyung suggested that Sakura has expressed her wish in joining the label of BTS and TXT after the group disbands. Big Hit Entertainment has stated that they are looking into the report. Prior to IZ*ONE, Sakura was a part of the famous Japanese idol girl group HKT48. The 22-year-old Japanese K-pop star was also the center of AKB48's 43rd single "Kimi wa Melody" (Your Melody) which is also AKB48's 10th Anniversary Memorial single in January 2016.

As the news of IZ*ONE’s Sakura reportedly joining Big Hit surfaced, K-pop fans took to Twitter to urge the entertainment mogul to buy the entire group as they are deemed to be one of the best girl groups of the 4th generation.

“Don’t be shy just buy IZ*ONE from OTR.. YOU WILL SAVE THE MOST SUCCESSFUL 4th Kpop GEN!” Another user said, “Actually bighit is planning to debut a japanese girlgroup next year!” Another asked, “didn't sakura announce that she will not be participating in any idol activities after izone? then why is she joining bighit lmao or is she going to be a part of the bighit japan thingy!”  A IZ*ONE Chayeon fan urged, “Plsss bighit Chaeyeon too!”
