‘Is the project even finished?’: Fans extremely confused as ‘Barbie’ adds John Cena to its cast list
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Margot Robbie in her reel life is being like "I'm a Barbie girl in my Barbie world, life is plastic, it's fantastic." We're sure it is, especially after all the love she receives in the real world for starring in Greta Gerwig's upcoming comedy film, 'Barbie'. Apart from our 'Suicide Squad' actress, we will also see an ensemble cast that features 'La La Land's Ryan Gosling as the "main" Ken while different variations of Barbie are played by: Issa Rae who is seen as President Barbie, Alexandra Shipp as Writer Barbie, Emma Mackey as Physicist Barbie, Ana Cruz Kayne as Judge Barbie, Ritu Arya as Journalist Barbie, Nicola Coughlan as Diplomat Barbie, 'Levitating' singer Dua Lipa as Mermaid Barbie, Kate McKinnon as Gymnast Barbie, Hari Nef as Doctor Barbie, Sharon Rooney as Lawyer Barbie. But that is just the 'Barbies,' they also have different variations of Ken played by: Marvel actor, Simu Liu, Kingsley Ben-Adir, 'Sex Education's Ncuti Gatwa, and last but not least, Scott Evans. John Cena seen taking a big leap
It is true that not much time is left for the release date of 'Barbie' as July is right around the corner. Nevertheless, on April 4th when Warner Bros. dropped the official trailer and posters of Greta Gerwig's movie, it was revealed that a new star has been added to the cast list. In the trailer, Robbie's 'The Suicide Squad' co-star who was seen as Peacemaker in the DC movie has been cast in an undisclosed role in Gerwig's movie.

'They’re still casting people?'
After the news surfaced online, fans seemed to have a lot of questions sheer out of confusion. A fan said, "Wait didn’t they finish filming? Unless they’re doing reshoots or smthn. Either way, it’s either the rock or John cena involved in the big movies nowadays and I’m not surprised." A fan wrote, "I thought they were already done filming... if that's the case please recast simu liu," while another added, "I swear i just saw a trailer.. You mean is he in a sequel? I think they are done shooting the barbie movie.. Unless u mean hes doin reshoots? Or is this just a SUPER late casting news lmao." A fan shared, "How are they still casting? Safe to say, fans are incredibly confused. However, apart from Cena, there were other names in the cast list featured in the trailer: America Ferrera, Ariana Greenblatt, Rhea Perlman, and Marisa Abela have been cast in undisclosed roles. You can watch the movie on July 21, 2023.
