BTS’ rapper and producer Suga has tested positive for Covid-19 after he landed in South Korea on December 24. The global K-pop group was in USA for the 2021 AMAs and their four-day LA concert at SoFi stadium which was a huge success. Following that, their label, BigHit announced that the boys would be going on a break to spend time with their families. They would be back from their vacation in March 2022 with a Seoul concert, album and possibly an OT7 world tour.

After the LA concert, we had some members going home, while some stayed back in USA. We had the likes of RM, V and Suga enjoying their break by visiting different American cities. With RM being the latest member to come back to South Korea, Suga was the only BTS member vacationing overseas. And while enjoying himself and being on a break, he was still active as he was featured in Juice WRLD’s posthumous album. Suga became the first Asian act to debut at #1 on Billboard Digital Song Sales Chart with the single ‘Girl Of My Dreams’ featuring Juice WRLD. He is also the Asian soloist with the most entries on the chart.

BTS' Suga gets Covid-19

On December 23, we then caught a glimpse of Suga returning home from LA, as he was spotted at Incheon Airport in Seoul. The BTS star looked healthy and stylish with black casuals and a black mullet having forgone his orange hair that he had dyed for the LA concerts. He was supposed to get tested and enter a mandatory self-quarantine period on December 24. However, his Covid-19 test results have come back positive. His label, BigHit announced that Suga had been double vaccinated and did not have any symptoms.

They shared, “Suga, who has had a number of personal engagements in the US during BTS’ official time off, had tested negative for the PCR test taken before traveling to the US, and began his self-quarantine after taking the PCR test upon his return to Korea. He received positive results during quarantine, and there was no contact with the other members.” He will be going through a self-care treatment at home according to the guidelines.

'My heart just sank'

Fans have been trending #GetWellSoonYoongi as they made tweets like, “GET WELL SOON YOONGI, HOPING FOR A SPEEDY RECOVERY! WE LOVE YOU.” Another ARMY was relieved, “Yoongi is vaccinated and is currently asymptotic which is great to hear, I know we are all wishing him the best.” One fan shared, “Thank god there are no symptoms. This is why it pays to be vaccinated. Eat healthy and take care of yourself, Yoongi. We will pray for your speedy recovery!!” Another posted, “My heart just sank. Please take care and get well soon Yoongi.”
