BTS Jungkook and Jimin's GQ covers get sold out, fans call them 'kings'
With BTS starring on back-to-back covers of GQ and Vogue Korea, we have the individual covers of Jungkook and Jimin getting sold out on every platform. The global K-pop group has started to dabble in fashion too as they were first selected as the global brand ambassadors of Louis Vuitton. They were invited and walked their first fashion show for the luxury brand’s Men’s Fall/Winter 2021 Collection in July.
2021 was a good year for them as BTS released record-breaking singles like ‘Butter’ and ‘Permission to Dance’. They also collaborated with the likes of Megan Thee Stallion and Coldplay while having four sold-out concerts at SoFi stadium in LA. BTS even made history on charts like Billboard and iTunes, as well as at award shows like being the most awarded group at MTV EMAs, first Asian act to win ‘Artist of the Year’ at 2021 AMAs and first K-pop act to be nominated twice in a row at the Grammys.

BTS on Vogue and GQ
We also got several iconic photoshoots and covers on magazines like TIME, Billboard, Dicon, and Weverse. And before BTS went on their much-deserved break in December, they did two photoshoots with GQ Korea and Vogue Korea for January 2022. For both photoshoots, they were seen sporting Louis Vuitton’s Men’s Spring/Summer 2022 Collection. While we got three group covers for Vogue, GQ went all out as we are getting one group cover and individual covers of all seven members of BTS. RM, Jin, Suga, and V were in slick suits, J-hope looked cozy in a patterned jacket, Jimin went minimalist with a black embossed set while Jungkook went for a grunge look with piercings and a turtle neck.
Jungkook's all-kill
Well, Jungkook was dubbed ‘sold out king’ for having the most sold GQ individual cover on the six major platforms that sell magazines since the pre-orders began five days ago. He received an all-kill (topping all platforms/charts) as his magazine was sold out on GMarket Korea, Ktown4U, Yes24, Aladdin, Kyobobook, and Yahoo Japan. It was also the most sold magazine on Amazon Japan, GMarket’s global, USA, Russia, and China branches.
Jimin's cover sold out for the last 4 days
We also had fans calling Jimin a ‘brand king’ as his individual cover became the best-selling on three major platforms in South Korea. His was also the only cover to be labeled ‘popular’ by Yahoo Japan for its high sales. His cover was the first to make over 1500 sales as soon as the pre-orders began on GMarket on December 10. And in the last four days, his cover was the best-selling on Yes24, Aladdin, and Kyobook.
ARMY made tweets like, “JIMIN’S AND JUNGKOOK’S COVERS FOR GQ KOREA?????? OH MY GOD.” A Jungkook fan commented, “No one is doing it like the SOLDOUT KING and WORLDWIDE IT BOY!” Another shared, “Yes Brand King JIMIN.”
