Who in the world would have thought Jungkook would meet Jay Park despite the rapper’s questionable comments about K-pop in the past. Jay Park made his debut as a member of the JYP Entertainment group One Day which was divided into two units namely, 2AM and 2PM. 2PM was and still is active as a regular K-pop group full of rappers, vocalists, and dancers but Jay Park decided to leave the boy group amid his controversies and eventually left the group and started his solo journey in the Korean Hip-Hop industry.

The singer/rapper Jay Park (Park Jaebeom) has made a lot of mistakes in the past and fans of the genre are not willing to let go of his past comments and cultural appropriation from years ago even to this day. Everything Jay Park does is negatively scrutinized from him associating with K-pop idols like GOT7 members, Ateez’s Mingi, Kang Daniel, and many more over the last few weeks as he performed the ‘Ganadara’ Challenge with them led to fans trolling the HipHop rapper. Now, a new post from Jay featuring none other than Jungkook (JK) of BTS has fans of the boy group joking about how Jungkook has been held hostage and needs to be rescued.

Jay Park gushes about BTS in his recent post featuring Jungkook

While historically speaking, Jay Park has not had the best relationship with fans of many K-pop groups which is why this new interaction between Jay Park and BTS’ Jungkook is not sitting well with fans. In his tweet, Jay gushed about the BTS maknae saying, “Bro is super humble ambitious, and talented.” Not only that but Jay Park then continued, “Can definitely see why they get so much love. JK is a dope genuine person.” The rapper also went on to share the photos on his Instagram account which Jungkook himself reshared on his Instagram story.

Seems that, just like many other younger K-pop idols, Jungkook too has been someone that enjoyed Jay’s music. BTS members were seen playing the rapper's songs during their live streams and most recently, Jungkook shared a video of himself watching a reality show featuring Jay Park. Despite the co-cordial relations between Jungkook and Jay, fans are trending Free Jungkook, #jkhostagesituation, #jkheldhostage, and more to joke about how Jungkook is being made to pose for photos with Jay Park out of his free will.

Fans of BTS in particular are unhappy about how Jay treated BTS and K-pop in the past but is only coming back to the genre of music for “clout”.
