Is Jay Park using IU for clout? Fans slam trolls trying to question their friendship
The world was left reeling when IU appeared in R&B and hip hop singer Jay Park’s solo single ‘Ganadara’ in an amazingly unexpected collab between the two idols last week.
The song was undoubtedly a hit, but since the two artists come from very different genres of music, some fans thought the collaboration was tacky. The single may have proved the distasteful allegations wrong as the song started topping charts from the minute it was released. ‘Ganadara’ is currently at Number 1 on charts like MelOn, Genie, and Bugs, while the single jumped five spots up and landed at Number 2 on Vibe music, establishing a new peak for Jay Park and IU.
Despite the song being a successful collaboration between Jay and IU, trolls are trying to make more out of a healthy interaction between the two artists, which has led many fans to intervene in defense of the two artists.
As soon as ‘Ganadara’ was released, fans of both Jay Park and IU started talking about how the song exceeded everyone’s expectations and turned out to be a fun single that they were thoroughly enjoying. Soon after, on March 11, Jay Park posted a photo of IU on his new Instagram account asking the Nation’s singer to help promote his new Soju brand - Won Soju.

IU jokes with Jay Park via his Instagram account
IU, who is the ambassador of popular Soju brand Chamisul, showed her fun side as well as she joined in on Jay Park’s joke leading to a funny conversation between the two artists. Jay Park, who was actually joking about the entire thing, got a similar response from IU, who joked in her replies and asked him not to “provoke” the ‘Brand Ambassador’ of a different brand.
Now as fans of the duo loved this interaction, it would not have seemed complete without anti-fans chiming in and giving their unrequired opinion.

Fans quickly started talking about how the interaction between the two on social media was funny and pointed out that Jay Park follows IU from his Instagram account but not his other Hip Hop friends. Trolls on the other hand had something else to say about this as they pointed out that IU, who has a massive fanbase in South Korea, would help draw more attention towards Jay Park’s relatively new Soju brand - Won Soju that was launched only in 2022.
‘Get away from IU, Jay’
Trolls who claim to be fans of IU are not happy with Jay using her to promote his brand while they also claim that his song was a success because of IU. One fan of IU said, “Useless man using iu for clout bitch ass short b*tch.” Another fan of IU said, “F*ck jay park ogre using iu!!!” Another IU fans said, “Get AWAY FROM IU!"

‘Trust IU and her decisions’
Some fans of the two artists on the other hand called out these haters as fans claimed that Won Soju from Jay Park was already sold out with people queuing up to purchase the rapper’s new alcoholic beverage as soon as it was launched. Other fans also claimed that a collaboration is not equal to “using” artists as IU willingly chose to do it without being forced for the same. One fan said, “If y’all don’t like that guy, then atleast Trust IU and her decisions…” One more fan pointed out the hate IU was also getting online for collaborating with Jay as they said, “IU with JP: "you're not the IU we know" (as if she's forced to do the collab lol)”
Another fan said, “I don't like it when someone comments that Jay Park is using IU, because I also don’t like when the slanderer said the similar thing, they said IU used Suga’s popularity for releasing Eight back then... They're just working, can you guys just enjoy the music?” One fan of Jay Park said, “Idk what you’re on about but Jay has been topping charts. Go touch some grass trying to start some sh*t.” One fan of Jay said, “"He is not as accomplished as iu"? Jay park the first korean artist to signed in ROC nation, with 3 labels, owned soju brand, former asia's got talent judged, a successful bboy, dancer, rapper, singer, song writer, with piled up awards and achievements.”
