BTS Jungkook makes a promise to fans after graduating from university with President’s Award

Being the youngest member of one of the biggest boy groups in the world is a challenge in itself but Jungkook seems to have faced it head-on. The 26-year-old (24 years in American age) has not only graduated from University but while doing that, he was awarded one of the most prestigious titles - The President’s Award. While the singer is acing it in his musical career, he proves that there is nothing he cannot do with a successful academic journey.

Jungkook is famous for being able to do everything and now, he has become a University graduate with an award. Back in the rookie days of BTS, Jungkook graduated from High School being a member of the boy band, and now as the group celebrates its highest peak in the industry, Jungkook has crossed another milestone in his life. While BTS prepares to headline their first concert in Seoul after more than two years with ‘Permission To Dance on Stage - Seoul’, Jungkook was not able to attend receive the award in person.

Jungkook shares his message after receiving the award

At the graduation ceremony held on March 2 where students from the Global Cyber University received their graduation certificates for the academic year 2021, BTS’ maknae Jungkook was named as the recipient of the ‘President’s Award’. Jungkook who was a postgraduate student in the Department of Broadcasting and Entertainment was informed about him being the recipient of the title ahead of the ceremony.

Due to his tight schedule and prior commitments, Jungkook was not able to attend the 2021 Global Cyber University Graduation ceremony in person but shared a video message sharing his feelings about receiving the award. In his message, Jungkook said ‘Graduation’ is an event that marks the end and a new beginning at the same time which is why it is always filled with bittersweet emotions.



 

Jungkook makes a special promise to fans

BTS’ Jungkook went on to say that because of this he feels a sense of excitement but he is also very touched about it. Jungkook also thanked President Lee Ilchi of the Global Cyber University for felicitating him with the prestigious award as well as the teachers and staff.

Jungkook addressed his aspirations on receiving the most prestigious award of the ceremony saying “I will continue to be a good role model for my junior students,” and ended his speech with the promise of making more good music for his fans which ARMYs are pretty excited about. On the other hand, it was announced that the group has sold out all tickets for BTS' upcoming Las Vegas concert - 'PTD on Stage' that is slated to take place in April 2022.
