Jay Park's fans are loving the ‘Ganadara’ collab that the rapper released featuring IU. However, ever since the collab was teased, other K-pop fans found it odd that IU, given her popularity and range, would agree to collaborate with Park Jaeboum. Jay Park has been under fire time after time for his past racist comments and K-pop fans don’t appreciate the way he reacted to the allegations in the past.

Due to their bitter experience with Jay Park, Twitter users started making jokes directed at the K-pop idols that participated in the Ganadara Dance Challenge. These fans on Twitter stated that idols like (G)I-DLE’s Soyeon, Seventeen’s Vernon, and Hoshi, former Lovelyz member, Mijoo, GOT7’s Jay B, Ateez’s Mingi, and Kang Daniel who performed the challenge with Jay Park were "held hostage" and forced to do so.

Jay Park talks about being an inspiration to idols

On March 24, Jay Park made a Tweet directed at the many haters that have started hating on him for performing with famous K-pop idols. Jay said, “Whether people like it or not I inspire a lot of their favorite idols.” He went on to say, “Just cause they cheer me on doesn't mean you should take it out on them.” Misunderstanding the argument Twitter users were trying to make, Jay Park said, “If you’re a fan you shouldn’t bully the person you’re a fan of. Think bout how that makes them feel.”

‘Don’t forget all of your cultural appropriation’

Fans of K-pop are now saying that Jay Park needs to understand that the hate is not directed at the idols that performed with him but at his past misinformed self who thinks that he could get away without acknowledging or apologizing for his mistakes. One user said, “Now you know damn well every tweet has been about YOU not the idols. we want them AWAY from you. always tryna be a self appointed hero shut the f**k up cornball.”

Another user said, “Our problem isnt with any of the people you dueted with its you. We don't need them learning from you because the way you act and how you handle things is garbage.” One more Twitter user said, “Now you know damn well ain’t no one bullying any artist. We are talking about you and you only. Don’t forget all of the cultural appropriation you have done Mr. 5’7”. You really thought you ate that tweet up too.”

One user shared a list of Jay Park’s questionable acts saying, “Y’all keep asking for the list.” Some Twitter users made absurd comments to his Tweet as one user said, “What happened dear? Is the heat getting to your head? I told you to use an umberelly but you did not listen to me? Have something to drink and you will be okay.” One user said, “N***a funny asf talking about he inspires my favs.” One user explained, “People don’t like Jay Park because of his problematic actions... Anytime ppl correct him, he talks to respond and gets defensive when ppl get offended by his ignorant actions.”

‘The level of toxicity’

Jay Park’s fans are now defending the R&B singer and rapper saying, “People hate jay park becoz he came back stronger every time. I hope you don’t take those hate to heart, I know it’s hard to ignore them but I will alwaz cheer for u. If I find any hate toward jaypark, I alwaz make sure to comment on them. JAY PARK, you are the BEST.”

One fan said, “The level of toxicity of certain kpop fans is the reason why I stop listening to kpop.” Another fan said, “It’s true. I’ve been following kpop for 13 yrs already and I have seen the ups and downs. These idol lovers are getting worse, but the good thing is.. it’s getting more known.”

Another fan defended the rapper saying, “Ya all accusing Jay of racism but forgot to realise that he spoke out loud about police brutality against POC and showed support for local minority communities and BLM before ya all faves could even understand what it was about.” One more fan said, “No but like seriously!! saying your favs are kidnapped or forced to meet Jay is actually so disrespectful to them. Like you don’t see them as grown people.”

One more fan said, “Most kpop fans that attack him are 15 or younger and it shows. Y'all expect perfect people that never will or had controversies and think that people don't grow, if someone said or did a shitty thing 10 years ago or even just last year, they can have a different mentality now.”
