HyunA and Dawn ENGAGED: Internet erupts as K-pop couple drops video of proposal

'HyunA & Dawn gave the biggest middle finger to the dating taboo in the industry by getting engaged,' a fan noted

K-pop's favorite couple HyunA and Dawn broke the internet on January 3, 2022, as they dropped the bombshell news of their engagement via Instagram. The singers have been happily in love together for over 5 years now. Though the couple has been caught up in engagement rumors in the past, it appears this time it is for real.

Dawn shared a video of HyunA and his hands wearing matching rings, as he captioned the clip with "MARRY ME💙". HyunA reshared the video with the caption "당연히 Yes지😭😭😭😭!" (Of course it's a yes). Later she also added another photo of both of their ring boxes, with the caption, "고마워 고맙고 늘 고마워," which translates to 'Thank you, thank you, always thank you'. As soon as the couple shared the happy news, social media erupted in joy and celebration as fans showered the pair with congratulatory messages.

The K-Pop singers, who are known for making music together, have been dating since 2016 but revealed their relationship to the public only in 2018. While Hyojong Dawn is 27 years old at present, his fiancee Kim Hyun Ah aka HyunA is two years older. The couple was previously signed under Cube Entertainment, but in 2019, they left the agency and signed up with PSY's label P Nation. 

K-Pop fans could not contain their happiness with the news of HyunA and Dawn's much-awaited engagement. "HYUNA AND DAWN ENGAGED I am so happy for them I can’t get over this news," a happy fan tweeted. 

Another blessed the couple saying, "WE WILL FINALLY HEAR A WEDDING BELLS SOON! Congratulations HYUNA and DAWN on your engagement! our Kim lovers You both really deserves happiness, im glad that both of you choose to fight for your love to each other & didn't give up."

Rolling Stone India journalist Riddhi Chakraborty recalled, "Thinking back to how HyunA and DAWN stood strong together when they faced all that sh*t in 2018. Extremely proud of them! :')"

Another fan tweeted, "don’t think people understand how hyuna & dawn gave the biggest middle finger to the dating taboo in the industry by getting engaged, they are proof that idols can fall in love and be in a public relationship just like any other human and maintain their careers at the same time."
