House of the Dragon’ Season 1 is slowly inching toward its conclusion and things are getting intense with each passing episode. Another thing that’s on the increase is the body count. For the first five episodes, we didn’t see many major characters biting the dust, but this week’s episode saw multiple important people from the ‘Game of Thrones’ universe dying without even being thoroughly explored.

Crucial characters such as Lady Laena Velaryon, Ser Lyonel Strong, and his son, Ser Harwin Strong died in Episode 6, making people realize that the time has come for the show to ramp up the body count. However, it seems that we will be seeing more deaths in the upcoming episodes and the promo for Episode 7 suggests that someone really important will be facing the heat this time around.

Although the promo for the upcoming episode primarily focuses on the growing beef between Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen and Lady Alicent Hightower, there’s one scene in the clip that has managed to make everyone curious about Ser Laenor Velaryon. The video shows Ser Laenor swinging his sword furiously and dodging a sword attack in what looks like a fight for his life. It doesn’t come as a shock that Laenor is furious after the tragic death of his sister Lady Laena Velaryon. There are a lot of other reasons for his frustrations and it all started with that fateful night when his lover was murdered by Ser Criston Cole.

Another thing that will break him and the entire House Velaryon into pieces is that someone has stolen Laena’s dragon Vhagar, who is the biggest dragon in the ‘House of the Dragon’ universe. Laenor might lose his control and go berserk while looking for the culprit. On the other hand, it also means that Laenor’s life will be in danger as someone might want to make the House Velaryon even weaker.

With everything that’s been happening in ‘House of the Dragon’, it won’t come as a shock to anyone if Laenor is killed in the next episode. Rhaenyra might be getting back with Daemon, which means, Laenor’s head could indeed be headed for death.

It will be interesting to see if the makers play their cards right and give him a death that’s brutal but honorable as well.

Apart from that, Rhaenyra and Alicent’s fight will reach a whole new level, and will be taking out blades to harm each other. It’s truly the beginning of the end for House Targaryen.

'House of the Dragon' returns to HBO with a new episode every Sunday at 9 pm EST.
