Plot
For the first time, the showrunners are welcoming individuals belonging to a younger age bracket. As many as 18 chefs of 23 years of age or less will compete to win the coveted prize and title for the landmark season. "Each week, the competition gets more intense, as these 'Young Guns are put through rigorous culinary challenges, reaping high stakes rewards and punishments, all with a Sin City flare. Only those who possess the right combination of ingredients will continue in the competition until one is named the winner," the site further says.
Since they are new to the business, they will have help from Christina Wilson and Jason Santos. Together, they will serve as mentors to the two teams the 18 chefs have been split into. "They have such a different, fresh perspective on the world, on food — it’s really neat to see," Wilson told TV Insider and added: "And quite honestly, as much as we hold their hands through this competition, they were teaching me, Gordon, and Jason some fun new things too, and that was exciting for us."
