'Heart Shot’: 5 things you didn't know about Nia Sondaya
Samantha aka Sam is overjoyed to meet Nikki, a new girl who has moved to town for senior year. After her unromantic high school years, she finally has someone to spend her time with. However, while everything appears to be going well for a while, Nikki's past may destroy everything between them.
The question now is whether these two lovers will be able to circumvent the turmoil they face. According to the Netflix logline, "High school seniors Nikki and Samantha are in love and planning their future — until Nikki's violent past comes back to threaten everything she holds dear."

Nia Sondaya
Nia, who plays Sam, was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to a spoken word poet and actor mother. Nia, an actress, and model based in Los Angeles, is represented by Unified Management. She has worked with artists like August Wilson, Ntozake Shange, Langford Wilson, Sam Shepard and Lorraine Hansberry. She spent most of her time in various theatre acts all across Pittsburgh in rehearsals with her mother as part of the crew on set, learning the light booth, assisting with lines, and so on, from the age of seven to fourteen.
She auditioned for her first play when she was 14 years old, and moved on to be a part of a much larger theatrical festival called "Pittsburgh Playwright's Black and White Festival." For her, it was a fantastic learning opportunity.
Nia was accepted into Pittsburgh's only creative and performing arts high school, where she spent four years and continued to participate in several performances. She joined the Alumni Theater Company in her sophomore year and began doing more professional plays at different theatres in Pittsburgh. Nia began studying film acting at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy in Hollywood in the year 2016.
Elena Heuzé
Elena, who plays Nikki, is a queer androgynous actress who goes by the pronouns she/they. They were born in the city of San Mateo in the state of California. She was born and raised in Manila, Philippines, before moving to Los Angeles to study psychology and pursue a career in acting. She studied psychology at CalStateLA while simultaneously attending acting lessons. They attended a French school while growing up in the Philippines, where they became fluent in French while still studying Tagalog at home.
