'DMZ' Ending Explained: What happened to Parco and Alma?
Up for a dystopian thriller? What if it also touches on geopolitics but at its core happens to be a story about a mother looking for her long-lost son? If the answer's yes, then 'DMZ' is the show for you! Starring Rosario Dawson, Benjamin Bratt, Freddy Miyares, and Hoon Lee, the HBO miniseries is a riveting watch.
Beginning with Alma Ortega (Rosario Dawson) going about her duties as a medic at an intake facility in Brooklyn, we soon find out that a second civil war broke out in America eight years ago and that she was separated from Christian, her only son, while evacuating Manhattan, which is now a demilitarized area. Alma has looked for him in both the United States and the Free States but her efforts went in vain. With the DMZ being the only region that she hasn't searched yet, Alma ventures into it and this results in her getting caught up in the ongoing political crisis. Alma finds out that the DMZ is heading toward its first election and that out of the two contenders one happens to be Wilson (Hoon Lee) an old friend of hers while the other is Parco (Benjamin Bratt) her ex-husband. She finally gets to see her son (Freddy Miyares) but he isn't the same person and he's also involved in her ex's affairs.
