Harrison Ford hijacks new Han Solo Alden Echrenreich’s interview

“I just thought it was spectacular, and I thought he was so smart about what he did and how he did it," Harrison Ford said of Alden's performance in the upcoming film.

Alden Ehrenreich had perhaps more pressure than any other actor in the Star Wars franchise (probably barring Hayden Christiansen) as he had to fill the shoes not only of an iconic character like Han Solo, but lead an entire movie while doing so.

Ehrenreich stars in the prequel spinoff 'Solo: A Star Wars Story', and while Harrison Ford wasn’t involved in the making of the film at all, he did go out of his way to surprise Ehrenreich during an interview with Entertainment Weekly over the weekend, even seeming to give Ehrenreich’s performance his seal of approval.

During the interview, just as Ehrenreich was making an attempt to protect Harrison Ford's supposedly crazy on-set stories, 'Solo' director Ron Howard sneaked into the room behind Ehrenreich with Ford in tow.

“Get out of my chair. Get out of my life!” screamed Ford in complete deadpan style, taking a dig at the new Han Solo.

Ehrenreich's reaction, of course, was priceless. “You’re sh*tting me,” Ehrenreich said as Ford hijacked the interview. “Oh my God!” he excalimed. The Indiana Jones star, who joked that he just happened to be in the building learning about reverse mortgages, also went on to make a comment about Alden's performance in the upcoming film, and he had nothing but praise for the young actor. Even director Ron Howard was pleasantly surprised by the extent of the praise.

“I just thought it was spectacular, and I thought he was so smart about what he did and how he did it. I just couldn’t be happier,” Ford said about Ehrenreich's effort. As Entertainment Weekly points out, this is technically the first interview Ford has given about the film itself.

'Solo: A Star Wars Story' premiers on May 25.
