The Detroit Lions will be featured in HBO's hit fly-on-the-wall docu-series 'Hard Knocks' this time. The NFL franchise turned down the offer from the network in 2011, however, they are going to be the focus of 'Hard Knocks: Training Camp With the Detroit Lions'. The series garnered critical acclaim for it's in-depth behind-the-scenes interviews, preseason news, and player profiles.

The Lions will be the 15th team to have appeared on 'Hard Knocks'.The Dallas Cowboys have appeared thrice, while the Los Angeles Rams and Cincinnati Bengals have made two appearances each. On May 23 this year, the Arizona Cardinals were announced as the next 'In Season' franchise. In a statement, Lions president and CEO Rod Wood said: "We are excited about the opportunity to showcase the City of Detroit and the amazing culture we are building at the Lions. HBO Sports and NFL Films are the best of the best, and we know they will be excellent partners in sharing our story with football fans around the world."
