'Hard Knocks: Los Angeles': Fans weigh in on finale, say HBO put out solid season with nothing much to work with
HBO's 'Hard Knocks' ended on Tuesday with the focus on the players making the cut and finalized in the 53-man squad ahead of the start of the NFL season. The Los Angeles Rams and Chargers were the teams receiving the fly-on-the-wall treatment and the fifth episode provided valuable insight about both teams making their final decisions. 'Hard Knocks' fans had mixed opinions about the show that ended but were glad to have some NFL-related content as the new season looms large.
This season also had ample focus on the NFL's attempts to bring the sport back during testing times. With the outbreak of the Coronavirus across the globe, sporting action screeched to a halt, and with most sports ongoing with strict safety measures being taken, the NFL decided to go ahead with the new season. 'Hard Knocks: Los Angeles' opened with the safety protocols that were used as the main themes and eventually went on to focus on rookie additions to the squad, the veteran players, scrimmage and the cutting of the players.
"For not having much to work with, HBO put together a pretty solid Hard Knocks season," read one of the tweets.

"That’s a wrap on #HardKnocks. Give me your episode reactions. Loved the Fehoko family Zoom call. Touching scene #Chargers," one of the fans wrote.

"That was the episode of #HardKnocks we needed to finish the series. Can't wait for the season to start. Fantasy season as well," remarked a fan.

But there were doubters as well. "Has Hard Knocks been good this year? I haven’t seen one person on here talking abt it," a fan commented.

And a bit of observation as well" "Kept coming back for #HardKnocks each week to see if Sean McVay would ever learn to correctly wear his mask. Spoiler alert: he did not."

The style of cutting the players was contrasting. In the case of the Rams, coach Sean McVay was seen calling in the players and talking to them. There were positive words that instilled hope. Anthony Lynn, the Chargers' coach would meet the players after they met GM Tom Telesco. This didn't go unnoticed either. "Watching these cuts on Hard Knocks. The difference between McVay and Lynn’s approach is striking," one of the fans opined.

"No doubt. Waited a long time for Charger hard knocks and we had to share it with Rams/covid/social injustice," read one of the comments.

With no preseason games this time around, 'Hard Knocks' was as close as fans could get. The practice scrimmage may not have entirely compensated for the much-anticipated preseason, but it was still some consolation.
