Episode 9 of 'Frankly Speaking' takes a wild turn, it starts with Woo-ju revealing Kim Jeong-heon (Joo Jong-hyuk) apologized to her. Song Ki-baek (Go Kyoung-pyo) drops Jeong home after a tense car ride where Jeong admits he likes On Woo-ju (Kang Han-na). Ki-baek, flustered, rushes to Woo-ju.

Things get surreal as Woo-ju excitedly sees a show directed by Woo-ju. Suddenly, their carpet magically flies them into the sky. Back in reality, Ki-baek's family celebrates his success, while at Woo-ju's office, the team celebrates their show's success. However, Woo-ju overhears the director planning to replace her.

Ki-baek and Woo-ju film a commercial with Ki-baek dressed as Aladdin. Ki-baek struggles with fame, while Woo-ju's writer's block worsens. While eating, they overhear girls gossiping about hating Woo-ju. Ki-baek tries to get Woo-ju to open up, but she hides her pain.

The next day, Ki-baek finds Woo-ju meeting with another writer and they create a cover story. Meanwhile, Min Cho-hui (Han Dong-Hee) meets a mysterious person connected to Woo-ju. Ki-baek and Woo-ju do laundry together. I-na brings them food and leaves. Min Cho-hui panics seeing a photo of them and plots something.

Ki-baek convinces Woo-ju to camp. He admires her smile, but she breaks down, revealing she saw her birth mother who abandoned her. She confesses she left the team and feels terrible. Ki-baek sings her a lullaby. The episode ends with a shocking video on Ki-baek's phone titled "Couple Paradise Was All a Lie," leaving them both worried.
