LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: 'The Cleaning Lady' is back to sweep off the dirt (or blood) once again on Fox. The Elodie Yung starring crime drama television series developed by Miranda Kwok is based on the 2017 Argentinian television series 'La chica que limpia'. The series first premiered on Fox on January 3, 2022, and ever since has created a massive fan base for itself.

Furthermore, 'The Cleaning Lady' stars Yung as Thony De La Rosa, and is described by Fox as "a story of empowerment, resilience and the human spirit that asks us all if the ends justify the means." Formerly a surgeon in Philippines, Thony is now living in Las Vegas on an expired visa with her young son, Luca. Since she does not have the qualifications to be a surgeon in the United States, Thony makes her living as a cleaning lady while trying to skate by. However, when she witnesses a gruesome crime, Thony is dragged into the criminal underworld and begins living a new life as a crime scene cleaner all while trying to make ends meet and protect Luca. In addition to Yung, 'The Cleaning Lady' also stars Adan Canton, Oliver Hudson, Sebastien and Valentino LaSalle, Naveen Andrews, and Martha Millan.

'The Cleaning Lady' returns for Season 3

'The Cleaning Lady' will be back for another go-round. Fox has renewed the popular series for a third season, the network’s first live-action scripted renewal for the 2023-24 season. Additionally, Jeannine Renshaw who produced 'Good Girls' and 'Grey's Anatomy', also has joined the show as an executive producer and will serve as showrunner with Miranda Kwok. Furthermore, the official Twitter page of 'The Cleaning Lady' announced its comeback on Twitter while captioning it, "Oh, nothing major just that... #THECLEANINGLADY IS RETURNING FOR SEASON 3."

Who is Jeannine Renshaw?

The show was originally created by Kwok, who also serves as an executive producer and co-showrunner. Renshaw will replace Melissa Carter as the other co-showrunner, who will be exiting the series after helping helm the first two seasons. Renshaw is no stranger to television, having worked on series such as 'Grey's Anatomy' and 'Manifest'. Alongside Kwok and Renshaw, 'The Cleaning Lady' is executively produced by Shay Mitchell, David Dean Portelli, Rose Marie Vega, and Paola Suarez as a collaboration between Fox and Warner Bros.

Regardless, 'The Cleaning Lady’s second season averaged 3.5 million total viewers and a 0.5 demo rating (with Live+7 playback), ranking third in the audience among Fox’s scripted fall shows. It also enjoys the beefiest Live+7 playback bumps (about +65%) of any Fox program.
