NEW ENGLAND: For most of us city-dwellers, living in a quaint, historic farmhouse might sound like a distant dream. Thanks to the booming real-estate scene, many of these historic homes are being dismantled to be replaced with modern houses and condos, now making it an impossible dream. Tired of watching some of these stunning, historic structures being torn, Jonathan Knight stepped in to save the day.

While many people might recognize Knight as the famous member of the boy-band group 'New Kids on the Block', not many know that this Grammy-nominated singer is also an excellent renovation expert. HGTV fans were left feeling pleasantly surprised watching Knight in action during season 1 of 'Farmhouse Fixer' as he traveled across New England with fellow designer Kristina Crestin to restore old homes, or as HGTV puts it, "breathing new life into the historic homes". Thanks to the raging success of the show, HGTV decided to renew it for season 2. So, if you're curious to know more about the upcoming season 2 of 'Farmhouse Fixer', then keep reading. While waiting for the new season premiere, you can check out these other HGTV renovations shows that revolve around historic homes: 'Houses with History', and 'Home Town'.

What is 'Farmhouse Fixer' all about?

While modern designs and straight lines have their own aesthetic appeal, there is something absolutely charming about old-school designs. Jonathan Knight is here to save some classic homes and breathe fresh life into them. Alongside designer Kristina Crestin, this duo works to ensure that some timeless properties in New England stay just as eternal as ever. As per HGTV, the show's summary states: "On Farmhouse Fixer, renovation expert Jonathan Knight restores old New England homes. Stealing ideas from his stunning remodels, recreate the charm of farmhouse style in your home — even if your house isn't centuries old."

In the season premiere, Knight will help the Kuprycz family, who recently purchased a 1798 farmhouse in New Hampshire. The family, who live on the west coast, needs Knight's help to transform the cramped, mismatched house before they arrive. Undaunted by the long-distance renovation, Knight will step in to turn the ramshackle old house into a gorgeous family home.
