EXID to have reunion comeback with 10th anniversary album, K-pop fans say 'revival of 2nd gen'
SEOUL, SOUTH KOREA: After BIGBANG, 2NE1, Sistar and Girls' Generation, it is EXID's turn to revive the second gen of K-pop with a reunion comeback for their 10th anniversary. EXID was a girl group that debuted on the cusp of second-gen and third-gen when they released their debut single 'Whoz That Girl' in 2012. They are known as the original chart reversal queens and also known for popularizing fancams after a fan-taken video of Hani dancing to 'Up and Down' went viral and brought them back from the verge of disbanding.
Fans were pleasantly surprised when EXID did an Instagram Live unannounced on September 7 and shared that for their 10th debut anniversary, they will be making a comeback on September 29. The single album 'X' will have three new songs while the title track is called 'Fire'. Preparations are already done as EXID was able to give in-depth spoilers from singing the melody to Jeonghwa teasing us with the choreography to 'Fire'.

EXID to release 10th anniversary album
It has been a while since fans saw EXID. Their last K-pop comeback was in 2019 and their last Japanese album release was in 2020. They were supposed to have one final Japan tour in 2020 but that got canceled due to the pandemic. Many thought that was it for EXID, but 2022 has been a good year. They resumed their Japanese tour with 'The EXID 2022 Japan-Final-Live Tour' in September. They are set to release a compilation Japanese album with 10 original Japanese songs. They also held a Naver Now show to celebrate their 10th anniversary. And so fans are excited for the 'X' album.
It looks EXID is as excited as the fans as they constantly kept giving spoilers. The second song in 'X' is written by LE and her brother. The third song is 'Leggo' and is a fan song to thank fans for supporting them. The girls also joked that Hani was the spiciest in the 'Fire' music video. Leader Solji assured fans that it is not a simple release, but they will also promote the comeback. Hani also said that this was just the first decade with EXID and they would have more decades together as a group.
