Will Girls' Generation come back? Sooyoung talks about future after 'Forever 1' era ends
SEOUL SOUTH KOREA: With Girls’ Generation aka SNSD reuniting and performing on music shows after five years and making a comeback for their 15th anniversary, fans were super excited. Each music show went viral, from Sooyoung’s hairography to adorable moments between Sunny and Yuri. However, after two weeks of promotions, the ‘Forever 1’ era has finally come to an end. However, it doesn’t look like it's the end for Girls’ Generation, though.
Many, including the girls, were disheartened when they ended up going on an indefinite hiatus after ‘Holiday’ in 2017. Girls’ Generation confessed that they did not know they would end up going on a break for so long. With several K-pop groups reuniting after a long break with no future plans like BIGBANG and 2NE1, fans were worried that Girls’ Generation would follow suit. However, Sooyoung assured fans that the ‘Forever 1’ era just might not be the end for them.

Sooyoung says goodbye to ‘Forever 1’
With several of the members leaving their label SM and branching out as soloists or actresses, Girls’ Generation shared that it was indeed difficult to clear their individual schedules for the reunion. However, that would not mean that they would not come back again in future. In a heartfelt letter, Sooyoung who is currently active as an actress, shared that she would always be part of Girls’ Generation but they were only complete thanks to the fans’ love and support.
She said, "The reason why it took time for us to have this comeback is that the message that the song delivers is more important. Rather than saying that we have come this far, we want to tell SONEs, who have been for us, that 'We are still here like we used to'. As we worked on this album, we were faced with the reality such as adjusting with the members' schedules. When the album came out, as I watched all of you cheering on us with the loudest voice in this world, as if you have been waiting for this moment all your life, I came to the realization that the ones who complete the message is not us, but you. It sounds to me like you are saying that you are, just like how you used to and how you will be in the future, are here. This summer is filled with happiness and precious moments as I spend it with my members besides me, busy with loving each other. Let's be forever, girls.”
‘Do not ever separate SNSD’
Fans were moved as they assured that they would be waiting for the next Girls’ Generation comeback however long it takes. One user on Knetz commented, "I will always be here, so please come back if you have the time to. Soshi-ya, I really really love you.” Another wrote, "I'm not a fan but I'm waiting for SNSD's next comeback.” A fan tweeted, "Thank you for your hard work🙏...thank you for a part of snsd...thank you for being part my past and of course my future.."
Another fan said, "Forever 1 promotions has ended and after the last ep of soshi tamtam tonight we’re just left with the fan meeting 😭 not knowing when will be their next group schedule makes me feel sad but with this comeback GG reassured us that we are forever." One added, "Do not ever separate SNSD. Im serious. Don't separate them. Until forever."
