Emily Simpson's early life and education

On the recently aired episode of 'RHOC' Emily opened up about how the absence of her father in her life pushed her to work hard and prove herself to be "worthy", which in turn she hoped would help her gain the validation of her mother. The housewife revealed that her parents divorced when she was only six years old, and ever since then her father wasn't involved in her life. This "abandonment" pushed Emily to work really hard and put herself through college and law school. In a Bravo blog post, Emily shared, "My mother and father divorced when I was 6, and my sister was 3. My dad left my mom for another woman. My mother never recovered from it." She attended the University of Miami, and later enrolled herself at the Thomas Jefferson School of Law in San Diego, Calif. The housewife took up a job as a Spanish teacher to fund her education.

Today even though Emily shares a good relationship with her father it still makes her sad that she missed out on so much while growing up.
