Those who actively use Twitter know by now that billionaire Elon Musk has set his sight on the social media platform. After announcing that he was interested in buying Twitter, he bid over $43 billion to its shareholders. And with Twitter accepting his proposal, many are wondering what it could mean for the platform. With Elon Musk’s cryptic tweets that he is interested in keeping his ‘worst critics’ on Twitter and wants to get rid of spam-bot accounts, a lot of K-pop fans are worried about what will happen to Stan Twitter (fandoms).

This has led to a hilarious exodus of BTS fans in particular who tried to move from Twitter to the free K-pop messaging platform Weverse. But while the global K-pop group is extremely active on Weverse, Twitter ARMY is having a hard time understanding the interface of the app. And on the other hand, Weverse ARMY are dubbing Twitter users chaotic and requesting them to leave and go back to where they came from.

This has led to fans making all kinds of memes and posts about their mini-experience on Weverse. The K-pop platform is solely a messaging platform, where fans can send messages to K-pop idols on the app like BTS, and view their messages and photos that they post. K-pop acts also create exclusive content that can be purchased on Weverse like videos and photos. And so Twitter ARMY had a hard time fitting in as they wondered how to trend hashtags, quote other people’s comments and embed meme-worthy videos.

‘I opened Weverse and immediately closed it’

These fans are back on Twitter making memes like, “Me confused af and trying to figure out how Weverse works.” Another posted, “SO BASICALLY THE SITUATION ON WEVERSE RIGHT NOW:.” For one, the absence of the night mode feature was a deal breaker, “Day mode on weverse:.” Another ARMY commented, “Twitter armys figuring out how to trend "BTS PAVED THE WAY" on weverse.” One said, “I opened weverse and immediately closed it again.” Another joked, “I love how Weverse rn is just bts gay.”

Others: We need dark mode.” Another ARMY added, “Tw armys opening weverse to figure out how it actually works.” One wrote, “Twitter Army struggles on Weverse! This is too funny.” Another posted, “Twitter armys coming over to weverse to genuinely sow chaos and inject some much needed levity into the cesspool of fan edits and oppar pls speak English posts.” One pointed out, “Twitter armys really just caused chaos on Weverse yesterday and then dipped.”
