Dreamcatcher member Dami's heartwarming interaction with wheelchair-bound fan goes viral

K-pop idols’ true natures are not really revealed to fans who might stan these celebrities by listening to their music and by witnessing their interactions with one another. It is usually music festivals and concerts that actually give fans a real insight into the real personalities of idols. A little consideration from idols really goes a long way at live events as fans make a big deal out of such instances trying to show artists just how much they love and appreciate certain gestures. 

With more and more diverse fans appreciating the genre, K-pop festivals and concerts have started getting more inclusive. People from different races and cultures come together to share their love for the genre of music. Despite the crowds and barriers to access, fans with disabilities also try to attend these music festivals, to interact with their faves. On June 4, the rookie girl group Dreamcatcher performed at the 2022 Primavera Sound Festival in Barcelona, Spain. Dami’s interaction with a wheelchair-bound InSomnia (fan of Dreamcatcher) caught the attention of those attending the festival and moment went viral.

Dreamcatcher’s Dami interacts with fans

While the girl group set the stage on fire with their high-energy performances, all seven members were seen interacting with fans who were present at the venue. While the members were in the middle of their performance for the festival, fans approached the girls and instead of moving away or calling security, members of Dreamcatcher approached fans and cheerfully interacted with them at the event. This was heartwarming to many fans of the group who later reacted to videos posted on Twitter from bystanders.

One such video that is taking over the Dreamcatcher fandom is when an InSomnia with a disability approached Dami, she bent down to interact with them. Following the rapper, other members of the group also approached and huddled around the wheelchair-bound fan. The interaction was caught on camera without the knowledge of Dreamcatcher members and is now going viral on Twitter where fans are praising the members for their kind-heartedness.

‘I need them protected’

Fans online are particularly proud of the seven Dreamcatcher members after this as one fan said, “Damn I see my Dami and Daehwi approaching their wheelchair fans seriously make me tears up again.” Another fan said, “The way dami ran to the fan in wheelchair and then the girls follow when they saw her. Please i need them protected at all cost!” One more fan said, “The sweetest thing just happened, there was this fan in a wheelchair and the staff let her pass so dami ran to her and then all the other girls ran to her too and they took a pic together it was just so sweet I love them so much.” One fan said, “The bare minimum she did brings me hopes to humanity. The bare minimum also needs praises. I love you dami <3 you're the best, our angel.” One fan said, “Dami best girl? *nod* Dami best girl.” One user trolled, “Literally the bare minimum. Yall expected them to ignore her?” 

One fan praised, “Yeah, we have come to praise people who does the bare minimum 'cause not everyone does the bare minimum anymore and if you don't like the content then might as well leave and take your unsolicited opinion with you.” One fan said, “I like Dreamcatcher a lot and they seem like nice people but I don't like when people use the word "true" or "real".” One fan said, “Y’all I can't do this today imma cry- I love her sm.” One fan said, “Why u should stan #Dreamcatcher aren't pretentious cause even when u catch them off guard they r always like this fun, lovable and kind. Notfake to themselves or to their music ( obviously cuz they have been doing justice to rock like no other).”
