In the 'Doctor Who' universe, it was once believed that the Doctor had a granddaughter named Susan, a detail dating back to the era of the First Doctor.

However, hopes for a family reunion were dashed when it turned out Susan Triad was not what she seemed.

She had been unknowingly manipulated by an entity known as The One Who Waits. The dreams Susan experienced in previous episodes were a ploy to lure the Doctor toward an unknown destiny.

As the episode concluded, it was unveiled that this manipulative entity had intertwined itself with the TARDIS. Finally, its true identity was revealed: Sutekh.

Here, Sutekh's true plan unfolded: the 'gift' Susan Triad was thought to be sharing with the world turned out to be deadly, as demonstrated when one of Susan's team disintegrated into the sand.

And with that, 'The Legend of Ruby Sunday' came to a close. Looking ahead, the backstory of Sutekh hinted at what might unfold next.
