What happened in 'Doctor Who' Episode 6?
In Episode 6 of 'Doctor Who,' titled 'Rogue,' the Doctor (Ncuti Gatwa) and Ruby (Millie Gibson) travel to Regency-era England. They confront shape-shifting aliens called Chuldur, who plan to use their new positions of power to take control of Parliament and wage wars.
The episode explores cosplay and obsessive TV fandom themes, with nods to 'Bridgerton.'
Ruby impresses the Duchess of Pemberton (Indira Varma) and shocks Lord Barton (Paul Forman) with her modern ideas. The Doctor suspects something is amiss and meets Rogue (Jonathan Groff), a brooding nobleman and bounty hunter targeting the Chuldur.
Rogue initially traps the Doctor but later releases him after they bond over their shared experiences of loss.
Ruby discovers a painting that hints at a larger mystery. Meanwhile, the Doctor and Rogue set a trap for the Chuldur, only to find that Ruby appears to be one of them.
Rogue sacrifices himself to save Ruby, and the Doctor is left devastated but determined to move forward. Rogue's final words, "Find me!", suggest the possibility of his return in the future.
What to expect from 'Doctor Who' Episode 7?
The upcoming episode of 'Doctor Who,' titled 'The Legend of Ruby Sunday,' will focus on the Doctor investigating Ruby Sunday's past on Earth with the help of his friends at UNIT, including Melanie Bush (Bonnie Langford) and Kate Stewart (Jemma Redgrave).
Susan Twist will return in a larger guest role as Susan Triad. Fans will speculate about her character due to a poster seen in the BBC's documentary 'Russell T Davies: The Doctor and Me.'
Some fans will speculate that Susan Triad or Triad Technology might be connected to a TARDIS, as 'S Triad' is an anagram for the time ship.
Twist will have made cameo appearances since last year's 60th-anniversary special, appearing in various settings from the 1960s on Earth to the battlefields of Kastarion 3.
'The Legend of Ruby Sunday' will also feature the return of the alien creature known as The Vlinx, last seen in 'The Giggle,' where it developed the Zeedex device to help humanity resist The Toymaker's hypnotic call.
Recurring guest stars will include Anita Dobson as Ruby's neighbor Mrs. Flood, Michelle Greenidge as Ruby's adoptive mother Carla Sunday, and Yasmin Finney as Rose Noble.
Showrunner Russell T Davies recently said in an interview with Digital Spy that he has written the episode as part of a "devastating" two-part finale, alongside Episode 8 titled, 'Empire of Death.' Both stories will be shown in cinemas this summer.
However, the official synopsis reads, "The Doctor and UNIT investigate Ruby's past. But as the Time Window reveals horrifying secrets from Christmas Eve, the mysterious Triad Technology unleashes the greatest evil of all."
