Taylor Sheridan has come to establish himself as one of the most iconic voices in television, and rightly so. Initially attaining stardom after creating the celebrated 'Yellowstone', Sheridan branched off into numerous spinoffs and prequels, most of which were positively received. Sheridan recently decided to rearrange the backdrop of his upcoming 'Tulsa King' spinoff show starring Samuel L. Jackson, which was previously supposed to be set in New Orleans. It has now been confirmed that the upcoming spin-off will call Texas its new home. Production is set to kickstart in late March at Fort Worth; however, there isn't a potential release window as of this writing.

The spinoff, which was originally supposed to be titled 'NOLA King', is now being referred to as 'Frisco King'. Sheridan has been approached by Paramount+ to write all eight episodes of the debut season. In terms of the plot, not much is known, except that the show will focus on Russell Lee Washington Jr., introduced in Season 3 of 'Tulsa King', starring Sylvester Stallone. The show is produced by 101 Studios and Paramount Television Studios.Sylvester Stallone and Samuel L. Jackson in a still from 'Tulsa King' season 3 (Image Source: Instagram | @tulsaking)

Sheridan, Jackson, and Stallone serve as executive producers on the show. Apart from the trio, the other executive producers associated with 'Frisco King' are Christina Alexandra Voros, Michael Friedman, LaTanya Richardson Jackson, David C. Glasser, Ron Burkle, David Hutkin, Keith Cox, and Bob Yari. Dave Erickson, who was the showrunner for the third season of 'Tulsa King', was also in talks to be the showrunner for 'Frisco King'.

Unfortunately, due to scheduling conflicts, Erickson had to withdraw from the project, leaving Sheridan at the helm. In a recent statement, Matt Thunell, the President of Paramount Television Studios, stated, "We are honored to have Taylor Sheridan write the first season of Frisco King and bring to life Samuel L. Jackson’s iconic character. Having him pen all episodes of the season with his singular voice will be a treat for fans of Tulsa King and audiences around the world."

Similarly, the Head of Originals at Paramount+, Jane Wiseman, added in her own statement, "Taylor Sheridan continues to build worlds that attract some of the most iconic talent working today, and Frisco King is no exception. Having Samuel L. Jackson step into this universe is a testament to the scale and ambition of the storytelling Taylor is crafting. We’re thrilled to expand this storyline with such a powerhouse creative team and cast on Paramount+." All seasons and episodes of 'Tulsa King' are available to stream on Paramount+. In the United States, the streaming platform offers premium subscription packages starting at $90 per year.
