The Season 29 finale of ‘The Voice’ had its fair share of big moments, but one performance in particular stole the show. Liv Ciara, from Team Kelly and the youngest finalist in the lineup at just 16, delivered a performance that left the room completely silent. Her take on ‘The Greatest’, originally by Billie Eilish, impressed both the coaches and the audience. The finale aired on April 14, bringing together four finalists and their coaches for one last showdown. The competition had been building toward this moment for weeks, and by the time the finale rolled around, it seemed like anyone’s game.

Alongside Liv, the remaining contenders included Mikenley Brown from Team Kelly, Alexia Jayy from Team Adam, and Lucas West representing Team Legend. Each finalist was given the chance to perform two solo numbers and a duet with their coach. Liv took the stage to perform ‘The Greatest’. The song itself is already known for its raw emotions, but Liv took it to the next level. Her coach, Kelly Clarkson, had already hinted during rehearsals that this song was not an easy one to get through. In fact, Clarkson admitted, “I bawled uncontrollably.”

She described getting overwhelmed during practice, saying she “wasn’t breathing right” while listening to Liv. That reaction carried over into the live show as well, where Clarkson was visibly teary-eyed by the end of the performance. And it wasn’t just her coach who felt it. John Legend also praised Liv’s ability to connect with the song. He pointed out, “You took us through the emotions of the song so beautifully.” Liv later returned to the stage with a completely different energy for her second solo, ‘What A Girl Wants’. This gave the audience a broader sense of what she could do as a performer. She also teamed up with Clarkson for a duet of ‘Stay’.

Despite her strong acts, the final results placed Liv as the runner-up. Alexia Jayy ultimately claimed the top spot, securing the Season 29 title for Team Adam. Liv came in second, followed by Lucas West in third place and Mikenley Brown in fourth. While the trophy went to Alexia Jayy, Liv Ciara’s performance in the finale proved she is far from done. If anything, this felt more like the beginning of her journey as an artist. And judging by the reaction she received, it would not be surprising if her name popped up again in headlines very soon.
