Drew Barrymore had to remove clip featuring '90 Day Fiance' star Angela Deem after massive backlash

"She has brought the drama, the heart, the mayhem, the mischief, and the memaw," Ross Mathews said of Angela Deem.

Drew Barrymore's interview with the '90 Day Fiancé' star Angela Deem took the internet by storm! In a June 2017 episode of 'The Drew Barrymore Show,' the daytime show host was joined by Deem. At that point, a short clip from their interview was shared on the talk show's social media pages. Soon after, many viewers flooded the comments section of the video with numerous messages in which they questioned whether Barrymore had any knowledge about Deem's controversial behavior. The very next day, the show's Instagram page deleted the clip featuring Barrymore and the reality TV star.

During the episode, Barrymore was accompanied by her good friend and guest co-host, Ross Mathews. Then, the former 'Hello Ross!' star expressed his true love for reality television and asked Barrymore to introduce a new segment where they would have conversations with their favorite reality TV stars. As per The Things, Mathews gushed over the premise of '90 Day Fiancé' and its various spin-offs and said, “There’s one cast member who I’m so obsessed with. She has brought the drama, the heart, the mayhem, the mischief, and the memaw."

Shortly afterward, a clip of Deem yelling at her husband, Michael Ilesanmi, was showcased on the screen as Deem walked toward the stage. At that point, Deem may have received a hearty reception by the studio audience, but the online fans weren't amused with Deem's appearance on Barrymore's show. They rushed to the comments section and criticized Barrymore for inviting Deem on her talk show.

One social media user wrote, “Wow—have you seen the show? Did anyone do their homework before inviting this abusive person on your show? For someone who promotes kindness and ‘good news,’ this was a big strikeout.” Followed by a second user who penned, "Majorly disappointed in The Drew Barrymore Show for having Angela Deem on their show. Whether her performances on the 90 Day Fiancé franchise are real or fake ... how can Drew have a person like Angela on her show ... a woman who has physically and verbally assaulted Michael on TV ... it was seen by anyone watching. Wow! Just WOW!" Another netizen stated, "Of ALLLLLLL the 90 Day cast, THATS who you chose?" A fourth user commented, "So disappointed in you." Just an hour after being posted, the video was taken down with a "Sorry, this page isn't available" message appearing on the screen.

Deem shot to fame after appearing on the second season of '90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days.' During her time on the show, the fans got to take a closer look at her complicated relationship with her Nigerian partner, Michael Ilesanmi. In the blink of an eye, Deem caught the attention of the fans due to her fiery personality and tense arguments. On the other hand, Deem has often been criticized due to her abrasive and aggressive behavior. Eventually, Deem and Ilesanmi, who met online, tied the knot in 2020. However, it seems like Deem and Ilesanmi were not a match made in heaven, as the two are currently in the midst of a separation. According to an InTouch Weekly article, Deem mentioned her grounds for annulment in her petition, which stated, "Michael fraudulently induced” her into a marriage “for the purpose of gaining legal permanent resident status in the United States.”
