BEVERLY HILLS, CALIFORNIA: The 81st Golden Globes was star star-studded and filled with surprises and twists. Viewers seemed to be quite impressed with the entire award ceremony. However, there were some fashion disasters and comedian Jo Koy's hosting was not up to the mark.

'Barbie' sensationally beat Taylor Swift's The Eras Concert movie to win the Best Cinematic and Box Office Achievement award. Taylor Swift's film was nominated for cinematic and box office achievement at the January 7, 2024 ceremony.

However, Taylor Swift did not win the Golden Globes this year. Taylor Swift was nominated for five Golden Globe awards. She took a moment to celebrate the cast of 'Barbie'.

Even critics and social media users felt that 'Barbie' was a far better film than Taylor Swift's Eras Tour documentary.

A Swiftie with Taylor's picture as the display picture commented, "I’m so happy the Barbie won. Yes, the eras tour was amazing but Barbie 1000% deserved that award.".

Another wrote, "Eras tour was very impressive but you cannot just deny Barbie's impact and it's a cultural reset."

One user commented, "Barbie winning is the only acceptable film to beat the Eras Tour! Congrats Margot Robbie the whole cast and crew!"

It was a valid win for 'Barbie' indeed. While being nominated for nine Golden Globes awards this year, it managed to snatch two awards.

A user wrote, "Im so happy about it like sure I was hoping eras tour would win but Barbie is just as f**king awesome it makes me so happy."

Another commented, "Well Barbie kinda deserved to win that one you know....first ever movie directed by a female director to cross one billion mark....the eras tour movie was excellent..but Barbie was something else."

A user wrote, "I figured it was gonna go to barbie but my second hope was the eras tour due to the demand they both held but I'm so happy barbie won for this category!!!!!"

As a signature move of Taylor appreciating personalities wholeheartedly, Taylor did the same for the 'Barbie' cast. The pop singer was seen immediately standing to cheer Greta Gregwig's film 'Barbie'.

A video shared by Ramin Setoodeh on X, co-editor in chief of Variety, shows how happy Taylor is for 'Barbie' win as she wastes no time to stand and appreciate.

'Barbie' wins Best Original Song award for Billie Eillish's 'What Was I Made For'

The 'Barbie' soundtrack was a memorable one. The Best Original Song award was won by the film for Billie Eilish's 'What Was I Made For?'

This track was written by Billie and her brother Finneas.

During her acceptance speech, she said how 'miserable and depressed' she was at the time when she was offered to do the song for the film 'Barbie'. She mentioned and a year later she felt 'incredibly, incredibly lucky and grateful'.

The soundtrack was nominated with songs like 'I am Just Ken' by Ryan Gosling, 'Dance Night Away' by Dua Lipa and others.

Taylor Swift sips drink as host Jo Koy's joke falls flat

Comedian Jo Koy, host of Golden Globes 2024 failed both as a comedian and as a host. He made inappropriate jokes about Great Gregwig's 'Barbie' and compared the film to a display of 'boobies' and even snubbed Prince Harry and Meghan Markle for their Netflix series.

The whole opening-up speech was embarrassing and not up to the mark.

Seated next to Keleigh Sperry, the singer kept a straight face as the comedian referred to the attention she garners when she attends Travis Kelce's games. Taylor, dressed in a green shimmery outfit, rolled her eyes and took a sip of the drink as the camera panned towards her.
