LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: The 'Yellowstone' universe has been seeing some dark days due to all the accusations and drama which was going on with Kevin Costner. However, the '1883' star, Sam Elliot gave the audience to chat about something else, as he won Best Actor in a Limited Series at the 29th annual Screen Actors Guild Awards. This would be the first SAG Award win for Elliott, though it was not his first nomination. He was previously nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role for his part in the hit film 'A Star Is Born' in 2019.

Apart from Elliot, the Paramount series also stars Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, Isabel May, LaMonica Garrett, Marc Rissmann, Audie Rick, Eric Nelsen, and James Landry Hebert. Furthermore, the series is a prequel to Sheridan's series, '1923'—and thus also 'Yellowstone'—and follows the story of how the Duttons came to own the land that would become the Yellowstone Ranch. The series consisted of only one season which had ten episodes and concluded on February 27, 2022

Nevertheless, Elliott had some real competition for the category. After the phenomenon response most viewers expected Evan Peters to be the winner based on his role as Jeffrey Dahmer in Netflix's 'Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story'. Regardless, Peters just recently won a Golden Globe Award for that role. Other nominees for the category include Steve Carell as Alan Strauss in 'The Patient,' Taron Egerton as James "Jimmy" Keane in 'Black Bird,' and Paul Walter Hauser as Lawrence "Larry" Hall in 'Black Bird'.

You can stream '1883' on Paramount+.
