'Deadliest Catch' Season 16 Episode 2 Sneak Peek: 'Moment of Truth' for Josh Harris and Casey McManus

Josh Harris is not on ‘Deadliest Catch’ anymore

The upcoming premiere of Season 19 of the popular television series 'Deadliest Catch,' scheduled for Tuesday, April 18, has left many fans surprised to discover that the F/V Cornelia Marie will not be making a return. As a result, Josh Harris, the oldest son of the late Captain Phil, will not be featured on the Discovery program. Fans are questioning the reason for Josh's absence from the show.

It has come to light that in August 2022, a now-deleted Reddit post disclosed that Josh Harris was hiding a secret from the public. Specifically, in 1998, when Josh was between the ages of 15 and 16, he was arrested and found guilty of allegedly sexually assaulting a four-year-old girl, as per The US Sun. This revelation has undoubtedly shocked and dismayed many fans of the program. Josh had been part of the series and its various spin-offs since 2007, alongside his late father, Phil, and younger brother, Jake, who is no longer on the show.

Jake reportedly left the series in Season 8 due to his struggle with drug addiction but has since made occasional re-appearances. Josh's arrest reportedly resulted in him being placed under house confinement with his father and stepmother. During this period, Josh was reportedly prohibited from having any contact with the victim or any minors under the age of twelve without adult supervision. Furthermore, he was required to undergo a psychological examination, which he later passed, showing minimal or no indications of problems related to his mental health, as per RadarOnline.

On October 4, 1999, the Snohomish County Prosecutor reportedly charged Josh with one count of rape of a child in the first degree. Josh's official arrest papers were delayed for almost a full year due to a DNA test being conducted after evidence was collected from the crime scene. Subsequently, a search warrant was reportedly served on March 25, 1999, and after the examination of the items obtained was completed, the crime lab matched DNA to Josh. As a result, Josh was sentenced to 30 days of confinement on each charge, 24 months of supervision, and 150 hours of community service, and was required to complete a 24-month sex offender program, as per the US Sun. His 24 months of supervision were approved to be under the care of his grandfather.

Where is Josh Harris now?

Following Josh's reported arrest and subsequent accusations, a noticeable level of inactivity has been observed on his social media platforms. Moreover, it is noteworthy that Josh has embarked on a new chapter of his life as a married man and the proud father of two charming daughters. It has come to light that 'Deadliest Catch,' the popular television series, has taken the decision to terminate all existing associations with Josh, and it is highly unlikely that he will ever make an appearance on the show or any of its affiliated spin-offs.

The third season of 'Deadliest Catch: Bloodline,' which prominently featured Harris, was broadcast in the year 2022. However, it is pertinent to note that the show is no longer available for streaming on the Discovery+ platform and has been conspicuously omitted from the network's website. This decision to remove the show from the streaming service and the website could be attributed to the network's dissociation from Josh and his alleged past actions, which were not in line with the values and ethos of the network.

'Deadliest Catch' Season 19 premieres Tuesday, April 18 at 8 pm ET on Discovery Channel. Episodes also stream the same day on Discovery+.
