The much-awaited French romantic thriller film ‘Dangerous Liaisons’ is releasing globally by July 8, 2022, on Netflix at 3.01 am EST.
What is ‘Dangerous Liaisons’ all about?
Based on the novel of the same name published in 1782 and originally written by Pierre Choderlos de Laclos, the film tells us a story about a 17 years old teenage high-school girl named Célène (Paola Locatelli) who is a firm believer in love and an idealist. Leaving her fiancé back in Paris for some time, she goes to attend school in Biarritz. There she falls in love with the surfer star Tristan (Simon Rerolle) whilst in the elitist new school. She has no clue about the cruel bet between Tristan and former big-screen starlet and Instagram queen Vanessa (Ella Pellegrini). She doesn’t have any inkling of how far is this dangerous game going to go on where she gets badly stuck.
The official synopsis reads, “Célène, at 17, is idealistic. She believes in absolute love, and is more interested in reading than in social networks. She is getting ready for living apart from her fiancé, Pierre, for a while, leaving Paris for Biarritz. Very quickly, she has to face the evil elite of her new school, ruled over by the former big-screen star and Instagram queen Vanessa and the celebrity surfer Tristan, who’s both dangerous and seductive. Célène falls in love with him, but is a long way from suspecting that she is at the centre of a cruel bet between Tristan and Vanessa. Just how far will they go?”.
