SEOUL, SOUTH KOREA: Girls' Generation made its comeback on August 1 for the first time in five years as the second-gen girl group celebrated its sixth anniversary since its debut. This week was bound to be the comeback week of the girl group where all eight SNSD members were slated to promote their 15th-anniversary comeback album, 'Forever 1' at several music shows including MBC's M Countdown and SBS' Inkigayo. Looks like these music show appearances from Girls' Generation members will have to be canceled after all now as member Seohyun has been diagnosed with Covid-19.

On August 9 SM Entertainment reported that Seohyun had been diagnosed with Covid-19 and will stop all her schedules immediately in order to take care of her health and rest. The label also reported that Girls' Generation will inevitably cancel their appearances at the music shows they are scheduled to perform at this week. The label did not specify why they canceled the SNSD music show performances when it was only Seohyun that had fallen ill.
