When will 'Chicago PD' Season 8 Episode 5 air? Kim Burgess' life could take a turn, thanks to a past case
'Chicago PD' is back with new episodes along with the other 'Chicago' shows and it is going full steam ahead with Season 8. With a new relationship blooming between Jay Halstead (Jesse Lee Soffer) and Hailey Upton (Tracy Spiridakos), all eyes are on them.
However, the next episode of 'Chicago PD' is set to take the focus on another member of the Intelligence Unit, and we cannot help but think that another relationship could see a changed future.
Here's what happened so far...
Of all the characters on 'Chicago PD', it is perhaps Kim Burgess (Marina Squerciati) who has had a tough time. In the previous season, she rekindled her romance with Adam Ruzek (Patrick John Flueger) for a night and ended up getting pregnant. However, Burgess was not completely sure about this new development, partly because she was not sure of how she would be as a mother, but also because she was worried about how it would affect her career.
And when Burgess loses her baby after she is attacked by a criminal, both Burgess and Ruzek are left heartbroken. So when the two were dealing with a little girl whose family was killed off in a previous episode, fans could not help but wish the pair was back together.
Elsewhere on 'Chicago PD', Upton and Halstead are finally together, and while it may not have the appeal of 'Linstead', fans are still excited to see what lies in the future for 'Upstead'.

'Chicago PD' Season 8 Episode 5 will air on NBC on Wednesday, February 3, at 10/9c.
What to expect from Episode 5?
The synopsis for 'Chicago PD' Season 8 Episode 5 reads: "The team investigates a rash of carjackings and finds that the truth is more complicated than they realize. Burgess makes a discovery about a previous case that will change her life forever."
While we are certain that the case in next week's episode is going to be exciting — and we cannot wait to see what the more complicated truth will be — all eyes will certainly be on Kim Burgess now. We are not certain what this "discovery" is but we are going to make a shot in the dark and just hope that this is what happens.
Many fans saw how Burgess was being with the little girl whose family was killed and saw the connection between the two. With Ruzek, Burgess also looked after the girl and it almost looked like the picture of a family. Fans wondered then if the two would end up adopting the girl, but she was adopted by her family.
It could turn out that the girl's family may not be up for taking care of her. If that is the case and Burgess comes to know about it, Burgess may step in to care for the girl, and perhaps, Ruzek may just step in as well. It certainly explains how this "discovery" would change Burgess's life, and if this is the case, we see a big change in how 'Chicago PD' moves ahead.
