'Boss-Dol Mart': EXO Xiumin and Monsta X Hyungwon cast in same K-drama, fans say 'have mercy'

Also titled 'Idol Supermarket', the K-drama is about former idol group members running a supermarket

SEOUL, SOUTH KOREA: It's a good day to be fans of EXO or Monsta X or both, as we have some exciting news. Both EXO's Xiumin and Monsta X's Hyungwon have been roped in for the lead roles in the upcoming K-drama 'Boss-dol Mart' aka 'Idol Supermarket'. At the same time, we are finally getting more details on Xiumin's solo debut while Monsta X's Kihyun is set to make his first solo comeback.

On September 14, it was first announced that Xiumin was reportedly in talks to star in 'Boss-Dol Mart'. His label, SM Entertainment confirmed that he had already been cast. The comedy drama is about former idols of a K-pop group who get together to work in a supermarket. This will be the EXO star's first acting project in 7 years as Xiumin had last starred in the film 'Seondal'.

Monsta X Hyungwon joins EXO Xiumin in K-drama

Hours later, reports came in that 'Boss-Dol Mart' had found their second idol turned mart employee. Monsta X's Hyungwon has also been cast in a lead role along with Xiumin. Hyungwon had done several K-drama cameos in the past before landing the lead role in the 2021 drama 'Fly Again'. He is also busy at the moment with Monsta X's world tour 'No Limit' as they recently held a 3-day Seoul concert in the beginning of September. The K-drama 'Boss-Dol Mart' is still deciding on its episode format but filming has already begun. It is being produced by Lee Yoo-yeon of 'Best Mistake' fame.

Another fan wrote, "HYUNGWON AND XIUMIN ACTORS TOGETHER, MY MONXOL HEART." One fan posted, "Hyungwon and xiumin being in a drama together was not on my 2022 bingo card but i will take it."
