As a self-proclaimed Kai fan, Tiger Shroff had been adopted by EXO-Ls with many even hoping that the Bollywood star would get to collaborate with EXO's Kai. However, fans have turned their backs on him after his latest original song ‘Poori Gal Baat’ released on February 28. Fans noticed that there were several similarities with K-pop culture, with the music video looking like it was a part of the iconic YouTube K-pop series ‘Studio Choom’.

Tiger Shroff had shared in mid-2021 that he was a huge fan of Kai and had even covered the EXO star’s solo debut song ‘Mmmh’ which went viral. He had also sent supportive messages when Kai had gone live on Instagram. The Bollywood actor had also participated in the TikTok challenge for Kai’s latest single ‘Peaches’ which the EXO star had liked. Indian fans were loving the interactions between the two but it looks like they are currently miffed with Shroff thanks to his new song.

Did Tiger Shroff copy from EXO’s Kai?

Fans felt that ‘Poori Gal Baat’ had the same mellow rhythm as ‘Peaches’ and even the beats were quite similar. EXO-Ls went so far as to point out that Tiger Shroff’s graceful and laid-back dance moves and sleek black outfits were also copied from Kai’s ‘Mmmh’. They claimed that even the lighting and dynamic camera work of ‘Poori Gal Baat’ was similar to the signature look of ‘Studio Choom’. However, fans of Tiger Shroff pointed out that ‘Poori Gal Baat’ was completed before ‘Peaches’ was released and the similarities were just a coincidence.

Previously, Tony and Neha Kakkar had gone viral for allegedly plagiarizing B1A4’s ‘Like A Movie’, IZ*ONE’s ‘Beware’, and Blackpink’s ‘Ice Cream’ in their songs ‘Shona Shona’ and ‘Booty Shake’. Several Naver reports confidently shared that ‘Shona Shona’ had blatantly copied from B1A4 and IZ*ONE’s music videos. Furthermore, WM Entertainment had, in fact, announced that they would be looking into the matter to protect their artist B1A4.

'Give him credit'

Angry fans made tweets like, “Literally WTF? I can’t even do anything but just laugh! You called yourself fan just to copy his song! LOL.” One angry EXO-L posted, “Tiger Shroff is wannabe Kai.” Another added, “Tiger shroff has copied EXO KAI's PEACHES and MMMH in his new song. He posted a teaser of less than 30 seconds but he copied almost the whole songs. How much copied will be the full song then? He should give credits to KAI. KAI has worked so hard for them.” One fan said, “Are we going to ignore the fact that Tiger Shroff just released a song that sounds almost similar to Kai's "Peaches".”

Another added, “Specially the chorus omg and what's with the studio choom background.” However, a fan of Tiger Shroff shared that the song was recorded before Kai’s ‘Peaches’, “Here is thread proving tiger did not copy kai Peaches First of all tiger shooting for his song was completed way before kai peaches.” But one fan felt, “Bestie, he literally copied KAI MMMH studio choom which came out in 2020.” Another EXO-L commented, "Why the f**k did i just watched tiger shroff on bollywood-ifictation studio choom and why does the song is literally punjabi version of peaches by kai." One said, "We get it you're a Kai stan but copying his work without giving credits isn't justifiable. This is horrible!! You be stanning him only to copy him Do it right ,give him credits ..."
