LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: 'MasterChef: Generations' Season 14 viewers recently witnessed a remarkable moment. The Fox cooking show contestant Daniela Peregrina bagged Genx's final apron and a surprise proposal from her longtime boyfriend.
Daniela prepared Chiles En Nogada with Sherry & Pomegranate Reduction and Almond & Pine Nut White Sauce for the judges. Gordon Ramsay called the colors in the plate 'stunning' and couldn't wait to dive in. He also noted although the dish was 'packed with flavor' and a 'celebration', it needed a touch more seasoning.
Guest judge Christine Ha complimented the different textures of the dish with Aarón Sánchez claiming the dish made him proud to be Mexican. Meanwhile, Joe Bastianich dubbed the dish 'authentic, flavorful and soulful' and all four judges gave Daniela a big yes. Daniela won the white apron and advanced to the mystery box challenge.
However, when Daniela came out with the apron, her boyfriend, Rick, proposed to her in front of the live audience and she said 'yes.' Daniela and Rick have been dating for more than a decade and often flaunt their romance and adventure on their social media.
Who is Daniela Peregrina?
'MasterChef: Generations' contestant Daniela Peregrina is a 52-year-old reiki master from Tehachapi, California. She grew up in Mexico and waited way too long to pursue her dreams of cooking. She claimed about cooking in the confessional, "It's what lights me up."
According to her Facebook, Daniela is a social media coach and owns Daniela Peregrina Social Media & Mindset: Coaching - Classes - Community. She has studied International relations at Fundación Universidad de las Américas, Puebla. She has more than two decades of experience as an online marketer.
Daniela Peregrina reflects on 'MasterChef: Generations' journey
'MasterChef: Generations' Season 14 contestant Daniela Peregrina recently revealed how she got the passion for cooking. In a recent Facebook post, Daniela shared that she started watching the cooking show two years ago when she returned from her New Zealand trip.
She recalled, "Even though had watched a few episodes (over 10 years ago), during that trip one of the things we enjoyed doing with our friends in the evenings was watching MasterChef Australia and I was hooked!" Daniela claimed that she binge-watched two seasons and "realized that Season three had an extraordinary twist a blind cook."
The Fox show contestant then claimed that "Christine Ha, the winner, became my favorite contestant." Daniela then shared her audition experience and noted, "Can't find the words to describe what auditioning for MasterChef Season 14 was like - It was exciting, humbling and surreal standing in THE MasterChet Kitchen, cooking and THiS competing for a white apron to represent my Generation - GenX."
