Astro Sanha 'Your Playlist': 'Big Daddy' trends as Arohas go gaga over K-drama

Sanha's character is called Big Daddy in the K-drama which fans and Astro find hilarious

Astro and Arohas (the fandom) are having the time of their lives, now that it is confirmed that Sanha’s character will indeed be called Big Daddy throughout his latest K-drama. The maknae (youngest) of the leading K-pop group has been cast as the main lead for the second time in the drama, ‘Your Playlist’. The announcement had been made after the show had already finished filming and so is ready to air on October 15.

With the release date nearing, more and more promotional content is being released such as trailers and character profiles. And fans are absolutely tickled that baby-faced Sanha will be called Big Daddy. At first, from the press release, it seemed like it was a nickname and Sanha’s character would be called something else. But both the show and Sanha himself confirmed that his character will be called Big Daddy. Well, Astro and the fandom are having a field day with it on social media.

Sanha's character is called Big Daddy

On Twitter, fans have started trending Sanha’s character to hype up his K-drama. Well, the Astro member had the most hilarious response to it. He went on the K-pop social media platform Universe and posted, “Who said Yoon Sanha Big Daddy? Come here I'm gonna scold you Who said you could tease me?” Moonbin also ended up teasing him as fans flooded their VLives comments with Big Daddy, “Moonbin: *reading a comment* What is ‘Big Daddy’? Sanha: It’s my character name from the webdrama... MB & SH: *cracks up* MB: Why are you called Big Daddy? Rolling on the floor laughing Are you a big father (in Korean)? Are you a foreigner? SH: I also don’t know MB: For real though, your name is Big Daddy?”

Sanha’s character is the oldest of the characters as Big Daddy is 19 years old. The synopsis states that he became a successful singer at 15 but due to personal reasons he took a break and returned to school. His fan club is called Big Daddy in Korean led by some of the school girls. He falls in love at first sight with Ha-eun and goes to extreme lengths to win her. But Ha-eun, played by Dreamnote’s Sumin, does not return his feelings and is constantly annoyed with him.

Well, Arohas are surprised that Big Daddy ended up trending because most fans were in disbelief about Sanha’s character name. One fan asked, “Arohas what did you do? Big Daddy is trending.” Some made tweets like, “Boy why would they name sanha big daddy lIKE WHAT WAS THE REASON?!?!? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA,” “Naur bec imagine Ha Eun pushing Yoon Sanha away while calling him "Big daddy" Are we supposed to get hurt are we supposed to laugh? BIG DADDY NAME REVEAL,” and “So big daddy (sanha) falls in love with haeun and tried to win her heart but she hates him and he started to annoy haeun PLSSS IM SO EXCITED TO WATCH ACTOR SANHA SJSKXISKS.”

Fans have also taken it upon themselves to change Sanha’s individual fandom name to Big Daddy like the character as they find it hilarious. They made tweets and memes like, “Sanha’s fanclub name is big daddy in korean.”
