Bibi fans 'dont buy' apology as CEO Tiger JK skips suicide mention in 'dramatic' IG Live

Fans were worried for R&B singer and rapper Bibi when she suddenly went on Instagram Live to reveal that she was not allowed to sleep, eat well or take off her makeup even if she had a gap of 7 hours between her schedules. It further alarmed fans as the Live mentioned suicide as Bibi hinted at “killing [herself]” at least thrice and crying that no staff member was picking up her call. Bibi went Live again the next day and apologized for her “dramatic” outburst.

On July 22, Bibi shared on Instagram Live, as well as on Twitter that she was simply tired and hoped that fans would not blame anyone. After noticing fans calling out her label Feel Ghood Music for mistreatment, she apologized for worrying them and added, “Nobody told me to work so hard, it’s me…everybody is always so good to me. I think this is a huge misunderstanding.” Bibi said that she had rested, eaten well and was now back to working on her first full-length album. Tiger JK weighs in on Bibi’s Instagram Live

Tiger JK is a reputed rapper in the Korean music industry and has several celebrity fans including BTS and Seventeen members. Fans have often applauded him for his genuine kindness and the way he managed his label Feel Ghood Music. He has also often been supportive of Bibi after signing her on to his label. Well, on July 23, he wrote a lengthy letter assuring fans that she was alright and that his label never starved their artists or disrespected them.

He added that Bibi’s Instagram Live was a shock, “BiBi’s breakdown…took all of us by surprise…I don’t know what triggered her to express her frustration in such sadness.” Tiger JK speculated that it could have been because she is working on her first album because of which even the staff hadn’t slept well for months. He said, “As we near the final stages of completing her beautiful dark twisted world, I could only assume that her anxiety was going thru the roof…On top of all that, as it’s festival season in Korea, we have many shows to rock…we let artists pick and choose most of their schedules. I promise you, BiBi is not starving nor doin things she doesn’t want to.”

Tiger JK ended his letter by sharing that they would continue to support her and appreciated the love and concern fans had sent the last few days. Bibi once again wrote one last letter on Instagram sharing, “JK oppa and Mirae unnie are being misunderstood a lot... They are the people who give me the greatest strength when I'm having a hard time. If there is something I want to eat or want to do, I am always grateful to my family and friends who make it happen at any cost. Thank you for understanding even my immature parts, I love you.”

'Glad that good caring people are around Bibi'

But Tiger JK's statement has fans divided. While some are commending the label for not restricting their artists and sympathizing with Bibi’s worry for her first album, others were torn. One fan said, “I can only imagine what it's like for Bibi, she's their biggest artists and undoubtedly they are investing alot into her first full length album. As an artist she has really blown up and I'm sure the expectations are crippling her. Lots of artists go through this unfortunately, this isn't unique to the korean scene, making an album is incredibly stressful on all fronts.”

Another reasoned, “Do I think Tiger JK is starving BiBi and making her life harder than it needs to be? No. Do I think he and his team have been less than observant, with potentially some bad apples in there who are actually pressuring her? Yes. I hope he stands by his reputation and sorts out his company. An artist should not be forced to feel the way BiBi did.” One fan tweeted, “So glad that good caring people are around bibi.” Another was assured, “Ahh its getting out of hand😭 glad u guys clear the air.. i feel better now knowing shes okay i cried after seeing her cry yesterday.. love u.” One fan shared, “I know some people are wary of this and it's out of character for me to trust a man but i believe this 100% tbh.”

'Just talk to her'

One fan was blunt, “To make it simple : he blame her lol for what happen to her in IG got nothing to do with the agency, what heartfelt statement do you mean?” Another pointed out, “It does seem strange to use words like "I can only assume", can't you just... talk to her?” One commented, “It’s really off putting that the official response to this, including from herself it seems, has been to more or less deny or underplay what she shared. Some of it also reads almost like victim blaming (perhaps a bit of a strong phrase here) to me.”

Another fan added, “Seriously that whole shit felt like almost bipolar like. She was mentioning suicide yesterday and now it's all butterflies and shit. I just don't f**king buy it.” Similarly, a fan wrote, “Ummm are you gonna talk about the fact that she mentioned suicide or are you just gonna ignore that part?”
