B.I is 1st K-pop idol to perform at Grammy Global Spin, fans say he's 'on another level'
Having risen from the ashes, B.I aka Kim Hanbin is constantly booked and busy, dropping collaborative singles and breaking records. Well, now he has become the first K-pop idol and the first Asian artist ever to attend and perform at Grammy’s Global Spin. The K-pop industry is impressed at how quickly the former iKON leader bounced back after he was freed from his drug scandal. He debuted as a soloist, and showed off his philanthropist side at the same time by donating the proceedings of his solo debut single and the commercially successful solo album ‘Waterfall’.
The self-produced album ‘Waterfall’ topped iTunes in 24 countries and was acknowledged by TIME magazine on two different occasions. B.I’s album also entered Billboard Japan’s top 10, debuted at #6 on Gaon and topped China’s QQ Music Chart. The title track ‘illa illa’ also made waves as it got 12.7 million YouTube views in the first 24 hours. B.I became the record holder of the most-viewed debut music video of a male soloist in the first 24 hours.
