Even though Ateez debuted three years ago, they have started leaving a mark in K-pop. Known for their fierce performances and powerful stage presence, they continue to wow fans, as well as their peers. Not only did they secure #1 from the judging panel in the first two rounds of Mnet’s ‘Kingdom’, but they also have a winning streak on other competition shows. Ateez became the first fourth-gen group to get the most wins on Immortal Songs' and now it has been reported that they will be participating as judges.

‘Immortal Songs: Singing the Legend’ is a talent competition produced by KBS. In each episode of the music program, an iconic singer is featured. We then have six-seven participants who perform their versions of the featured singer’s songs. Not only are the songs legendary, but the participants themselves are also famous. They happen to be successful artists and K-pop groups. We’ve had winners like Gaho, 2AM’s Changmin and Ailee. It should also be noted that Ateez has been invited four times in the span of a year.

Ateez as part of the judging panel on ‘Immortal Songs’

Ateez was first invited in August 2020 where they performed Turbo’s ‘Black Cat Nero’. It also got them their first win. They impressed the original member of Turbo Kim Jong-kook to the point that he even appeared in their performance video for the song and collaborated with them this summer. Ateez then performed ‘Anyhow Song’ by Seo Taiji and Boys II. They got their next two wins with Rain’s ‘It’s Raining’ and PSY’s ‘Right Now’. Atinys (their fandom) were further proud that PSY specially asked for them to be featured in his episode.

And on November 1, Ateez’s San, Mingi, Wooyoung and Jongho were reportedly seen filming for an episode for ‘Immortal Songs’ where they will be judges. Just a couple of days ago, on October 29, Jongho, the vocal powerhouse became the first fourth-gen male idol to be featured on ‘Yoo Heeyeol’s Sketchbook’, another popular music competition. He performed Jang Hyejin’s ‘One late night in 1994’. Ateez is also the fastest boy group to get the most wins on 'Immortal Songs'.

'Ateez power'

Proud Atinys made tweets like, “Ateez really went from performing on immortal songs as rookies, ro being the only 4th gen artists to win multiple times and now they're on the judge panel." Another fan said: "Omgggg they went from performing to judging already how time flies."

“Remember when the staff of You Heeyeol's Sketchbook asked jongho if he wanna be a fixed cast member there, and jongho started giggling, saying that it would be an honour?? SEE WHAT'S HAPPENING TODAY. ATEEZ AS JUDGES ON IMMORTAL SONGS,” and “Its hard to get to perform on immortal songs bc that show is purely based on talent and live vocals so they usually don't even invite 4th gen groups but ateez has been on that show for 4 times now in 3 years and won for 3 times and now they're invited for the 5th time as JUDGES.”

Another fan added, “After won 3 times at immortal songs, now they got invited as judges. Ateez you never fail to make us proud.” One fan shared, “Ateez went from being immortal songs perfomers to judges in just a span of one year. no one's doing it like them !” Another commented, “Ateez won 7 rounds in total on immortal songs and won 3 trophies. fastest group to reach that and a boy group with most wins. we’re personally invited by psy himself. they are now returning on the show as idol judges. 3 years into their career. ateez power !!”
