Atinys (Ateez’s fandom) couldn’t be any prouder with Ateez now being invited for ‘2021 King of Kings Special’, the grand finale of ‘Immortal Songs’. They had a historical run on the show as they became the first fourth-gen group to get the most wins on the show. They were also invited to compete four times in the span of a year. Ateez also became the fastest boy group to get the most wins on ‘Immortal Songs’. On top of it, their unique covers and fierce performances had the featured original singers like Turbo’s Kim Jong-kook, Rain and PSY applauding them.

The K-pop group was first invited in August 2020 when they were still rookies. Ateez ended up getting their first win too as they performed Turbo’s ‘Black Cat Nero’. They then performed ‘Anyhow Song’ by Seo Taiji and Boys II. Following that, they got back to back wins in their next two appearances as they performed Rain’s ‘It’s Raining’ and PSY’s ‘Right Now’. Fans were further impressed that in early November, they were invited to be on ‘Immortal Songs’ as judges. And now, they’re the only K-pop group invited on the ‘2021 King of Kings Special’.

On November 26, ‘Immortal Songs’ finally revealed their star-studded lineup for the grand finale of 2021. Production and viewers are excited as it will be their first offline event in a concert hall in 2 years. The music competition was launched in 2011 and became a reputable program as talented and legendary artists were involved in ‘Immortal Songs’. The ambitious concept of the show was a hit as they have one iconic singer featured in an episode with 6-7 popular artists and groups competing with covers of the featured artist’s songs.

KBS is going all out for the finale as the ‘King of Kings Special’ will have 12 competing teams. These teams are past winners of the show. On top of it, ‘Immortal Songs’ is also finally allowing a live audience for their program following the ease on social distancing guidelines. All of the participants will perform live in front of an audience at Ilsan Kintex on December 6 which will be broadcast on KBS’ channel on December 18 and 25.

Ateez performed a mashup of 'The Real (Heung version)', BIGBANG's 'Fantastic Baby' and Block B's 'Nilili Mambo'. The performance is on Naver TV and will be uploaded on KBS' YouTube at a later date.
