'Angelyne': Fans call Emmy Rossum's performance 'absolutely unbelievable'

FOX's 'Angelyne' is a new-age depiction of billboard queen Angylene's life in the 1980s. Fans have taken a liking to the story and the protagonist, but more importantly to the actress that played the main character. Actress Emmy Rossum seems to have done a splendid job at creating a massive fanbase with her latest release 'Angelyne' on Peacock.

The American actress was born in New York and is the daughter of Cheryl Rossum, a single mother who worked as a corporate photographer. She made her debut as Abigail Williams in the daytime soap opera 'As the World Turns' in 1997.

In an interview, the actress stated that she had to get into the character completely to be fully ready for the series. In an interview with AVC, Rossum said, "I get to play many versions of Angelyne, not just over the course of a 50-year period but also depending on who’s telling the story." She spoke about how she went through a transformation, right from her hair to her nails and that did her well because she managed to pull off the role exceptionally and gained her a huge fan following.

Fans gushed about the actress' performance on social media, with one tweeting, "Emmy Rossum’s performance in #Angelyne is absolutely unbelievable. Truly something special." Another added, "Had the pleasure of speaking w/ @EmmyRossum about why she took on the challenge of telling the fantastical story of #Angelyne, her favorite part about the 80s, and much more. The limited series is now airing in its entirety on @peacockTV."
