'Angelyne' on Peacock: 5 things you didn't know about Emmy Rossum
The five-episode limited series 'Angelyne' is ready to premiere on May 19, 2022, on Peacock after four years in the making. The series is about a mysterious blonde bombshell who takes over Los Angeles billboards in the mid-1980s, planting the seed for famous-for-being-famous influencer culture. The story focuses on fame and the elusive nature of truth itself. Emmy Rossum stars as the pop culture icon Angelyne, famous before the days of Paris Hilton and social media.
Based on a Hollywood Reporter’s 2017 investigative article, 'Angelyne' is executive produced by 'Mr. Robot' creator Sam Esmail, who is also Rossum’s husband. “I love Angelyne. She’s as if Marilyn Monroe got into an easy bake oven with an ’80s punk Barbie Doll, and a dose of new-age spirituality,” Rossum shared in a press statement. “She’s a trailblazer, a hustler, a visionary, the original influencer, a living-breathing piece of art," she added.
