John Morgan from North Carolina was one of the performers in Week 2 of the much-awaited semifinals of NBC's hit show, 'American Song Contest'. His country sing 'Right in the Middle' opened to mixed performances from audiences who took to social media. He was placed second at the time of writing with Kansas' Broderick Jones taking the top spot.

The other contestants for this week include, — American Samoa - Tenelle – 'Full Circle', California - Sweet Taboo – 'Keys to the Kingdom', Connecticut - Michael Bolton – 'Beautiful World', Georgia - Stela Cole – 'DIY' Kansas - Broderick Jones – 'Tell Me', North Dakota - Chloe Fredericks – 'Can't Make You Love Me', Puerto Rico - Christian Pagán – 'Loko', Tennessee - Tyler Braden – 'Seventeen', Texas - Grant Knoche – 'Mr. Independent', and New York - Enisa – 'Green Light' (Wildcard entry).

"North Carolina...I don't dislike it but I wonder if it's strong enough to stay in for the final? #AmericanSongContest," one of the fans commented. "We’ve come to the conclusion that North Carolina was good, but that sounded like every other country song #AmericanSongContest," another opined. "Act 2 - Semi 2 North Carolina - John Morgan - "Right in the Middle" Well the staging is a little bit better that all i can say the song is still so radio Country and BTW I Dont Like Country Sorry My Score - 4," a fan rated the performance.
