'American Song Contest' Semifinals 1: Fans in awe of Hueston's 'moving and effective performance'

With round 1 of the semifinals here, it looks like 'American Song Contest' artists are starting to feel the heat! The first round features 11 artists taking on Semifinals 1, where they will perform the same original number yet again. The jury will ognly send one artist to the final round. But don't worry, that isn't the end for the others. 

The audience also has the power to vote for four other performances. Taking on the stage in Semifinals 1 are Alabama – Ni/Co, Colorado – Riker Lynch. Kentucky – Jordan Smith, Massachusetts – Jared Lee, Michigan – Ada LeAnn, Montana – Jonah Prill, New Hampshire – MARi, Oklahoma – AleXa, Rhode Island – Hueston, Washington – Allen Stone and Wyoming – Ryan Charles.

While everyone considers Rhode Island's Hueston to be tough competition, for him, the fact that the song resonates with people was a sign that he had already won. Prior to his performance, he spoke about how people reached out to him on social media about his music and for him, that was truly the best part of the process. Hueston added that music brings people together and that's exactly what the song is about, as it taps into the emotion of being a bad relationship and learning to move on. 

Fans, as they were before, were floored by his performance. "Hueston gave me all the feels The best vocals from this batch #americansongcontest" tweeted a fan.
