'American Song Contest' Finale: Fans label Texas' Grant Knoche as 'winner material'

It's now down to the wire, as 'American Song Contest' enters the grand finale. With 10 artists making it to the finals, this is their make it or break it a moment, as the show crowns its winner today.

Taking on the finals of 'American Song Contest' are Connecticut's Michael Bolton, North Dakota's Chloe Fredericks, Texas' Grant Knoche, American Samoa's Tenelle, Tennessee's Tyler Braden, Kentucky's Jordan Smith, Colorado's Riker Lynch, Alabama's Ni/Co, Oklahoma's AleXa and Washington's Allen Stone.

As Grant Knoche sat down with Kelly Clarkson before his performance, he joked about how he wrote his song, 'Mr Independent' was a song that he wrote in the show. Knoche has been singing since age 9 and producing since age 11 and felt as though he represented Texas' strong and independent spirit. Fans seemed to feel the same way since they loved his performance. "The way i'm so grateful to grant knoche for bringing some of that classic Eurovision Weird to the #AmericanSongContest" tweeted a fan. "I've never imagined having Texas as one of my favorites to win #AmericanSongContest. But Grant Knoche is always bringing a great performance." added another. Grant's synth-driven, deep bass and intimate pop songs have all been written and produced by him. On his way to gathering over 900,000 followers, Grant has spent most of his life on the road performing more than 160 shows across America, including on "Today," at Radio City Music Hall, Woodstock and many other locales. Grant's debut EP, "Color Me Blue," has been featured on multiple top playlists and he was recently called out by Ones to Watch as "One of today's finest rising pop stars." Grant's excited to represent his home state of Texas."
